3 February 2015, Lausanne – International Boxing Association (AIBA) President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu received a visit from the delegation from Uzbekistan Boxing Federation represented by the Senior Vice-President, Mr Tashmatov Sherzod. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the state of boxing in Uzbekistan and ideas for the enhancement of full cooperation between two organizations.

“The level of boxing in Uzbekistan has improved and as it continues to develop we expect that in the future Uzbekistan boxers will be shining in AIBA competitions. One of the keys to success is that the Federation is actively involved in protecting the athletes and works together with the Confederation, referees and judges and coaches to reach the highest boxing standards”said President Wu.

Mr Tashmatov Sherzod has presented AIBA President Ching-Kuo Wu with Order of Merit on behalf of Uzbekistan Government, the Ministry of Sport and Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee. The Order of Merit of Uzbekistan exists in limited edition of only 15 copies and is presented exclusively to high-ranking representatives of Governments and International bodies.
