More than 650 boxers are to participate in IBA Youth World Boxing Championships

Less than a month is left before the IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships will take place in Spain.
Since the start of the registration, 89 National Federations have applied for participation in the tournament. In total, 476 youth men and 208 youth women will come to Alicante province to fight for the medals.
The European Boxing Confederation (EUBC) is represented by 321 boxers, which is more than any other Confederation.
The tournament will bring together the best youth men and women boxers in 25 weight categories – 13 and 12 for both genders respectively. The most numerous weight category for men is light welterweight (52 boxers). Among women, featherweight with 24 boxers is the most crowded category.
The Spanish city in the Alicante region, La Nucía will host IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships 2022 at the Ciudad Deportiva Camilo Cano arena. The dates are set for November 14-26. Spanish Boxing Federation turns 100 years, and this championships will become their first-ever world-class event. Previously, Spain hosted only continental-level events.
