Karim Bouzidi, current WSB Chief Executive Officer, additionally appointed as the AIBA Deputy Executive Director

The International Boxing Association (AIBA) announced that it has appointed Karim Bouzidi to be its Deputy Executive Director in addition to his current position as the WSB CEO. Therefore he will continue manage all aspects of WSB and will additionally be involved in AIBA affairs to assist the AIBA Executive Director.
Bouzidi joined AIBA in 2012 as Chief Operating Officer of the World Series of Boxing (WSB), the only global pro-style team boxing competition, becoming its Chief Executive Officer in 2013. Prior to joining WSB, he was General Manager of Paris United, the French WSB Franchise team.
Announcing Bouzidi’s appointment, AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu said: “AIBA continues to grow as the world governing body for boxing, in particular with the launch of our groundbreaking new competition format AIBA Pro Boxing (APB), which for the first time allows boxers to turn professional while retaining eligibility to qualify for the Olympic Games.”
Dr Wu also added, “I am delighted that Karim will now put all his experience and expertise to the benefit of AIBA overall. As Deputy Executive Director, he will work together with AIBA Executive Director Ho Kim on all strategic decisions, while also keeping a particular focus on further developing AIBA’s three competition formats – AIBA Pro Boxing, World Series of Boxing and AIBA Open Boxing.”
