On 24 August 2022, the Chairperson of the BIIU Interim Nomination Unit sent a communication to the National Federations of the International Boxing Association (IBA) and to the candidates to the Presidential elections – Mr Umar Kremlev and Mr Boris van der Vorst – with guidance regarding the electoral period and other matters related to the Second IBA Extraordinary Congress Yerevan 2022. 

Upon confirmation by Mr Umar Kremlev and Mr Boris van der Vorst of their candidature, and considering that the National Federations did not submit any comments or observations about the guidance from the Chairperson of the BIIU Interim Nomination Unit within the 10-day deadline granted, the BIIU Interim Nomination Unit hereby confirms that the candidates for the position of IBA President are:

·      Umar Kremlev (RUS)

·      Boris van der Vorst (NED)

Therefore, in line with art. 1.2 of the IBA Regulations on Congress and Elections and art. 27.12 of the IBA Constitution, the Electoral period starts today following this publication of the list of candidates.
