IBA to develop boxing in Bahrain

During visit to Bahrein the National Federation of the country showed the IBA President the sport facilities and gyms in Manama. The President participated in a training session with the boxers from the Bahrain National Boxing Team. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that a boxing gym would be built there.
“I am happy that there are many representatives of the Bahrain Boxing Federation who are in love with our sport. We need not only to talk but actively work on the implementation of the plans we discussed today,” said President Umar Kremlev.
“We want to build a real boxing home here in Bahrain,” said Tony David, manager and coach of the Bahrain National Boxing Team. “Our goal is to come together with other Gulf countries and, under IBA’s support, develop the sport and boxers from the youngest generation to the elite level as countries with excellent boxing practice do. Development of boxing is not only about boxers, but also about the education of coaches, referees, and judges.”
During the meeting, methods to help with the exchange of information and experiences among the coaches was also discussed, as well as further improvements to programs for young people through the integration of boxing into school programs.
