IBA Congress to elect Board of Directors member from the Americas

Three candidates are in line for the election of woman Board of Directors member from Americas to fill the current vacant position. The elections will take place on 9 December 2023 at the IBA Ordinary Congress in Dubai.
Lourdes Avendaño from Bolivia, Ivonne Nuñez from Ecuador, and Luisa Benitez from Venezuela are the eligible candidates approved by the BIIU Nomination Unit.
Mrs Avandaño performed as a boxer previously and represented Bolivian team and participated in international boxing competitions. She is a certified IBA coach and has a Business Administration degree.
Mrs Nuñez is a lawyer and an economist, she obtained a Masters in International Business and Foreign Trade Management and a Masters in Constitutional Law degrees, and now is a PhD candidate. She also teaches law at multiple universities in Ecuador. Mrs Nuñez was awarded the Dr. Leonidas Ortega Moreira Professional Merit Award in 2015 and 2016.
Mrs Benitez is the President of Venezuelan Boxing Federation (FEVEBOX) and an active American Boxing Confederation (AMBC) Board member. She has already served on the (A)IBA Board of Directors in the past. She is an attorney and a certified IBA International Technical Official.
