Chinyemba and Allotey ready to clash at first-ever African IBA Champions’ Night in Addis Ababa
August 17th, 2024 / AFBC, IBA Champions Night
Partick Chinyemba from Zambia and Theophilus Allotey from Ghana cannot wait to face each other in the ring at IBA Champions’ Night in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the vacant IBA African Flyweight Champion title.
The show with Chinyemba-Allotey main event kicks off tonight at 17:00 CEST and is live-streamed here.
Allotey said before the fight that he felt great, as he had been waiting for this change for a long time.
‘I feel very happy, very strong, ready for the rematch. This time I want a fair game. Anything is possible, but I’m a better boxer than him. Patrick Chinyemba is not a boxer, he’s a fighter, and I am a boxer. I have the skills, I have everything in boxing. Patrick Chinyemba is nobody to me. I’m going there to punish him, and if I get a chance to give him a KO, I will make it happen. Maybe I can have 7 or 6 in-depth opportunities come for me to knock him down, and then I’ll do it. This time I’m not going to play with him, I’m going to teach him boxing,’ Allotey claimed, adding that he wanted to bring the belt home.
Chinyemba, in turn, wants to show his rival that he is “a better boxer”.
‘I don’t have a lot of words, but I just want to prove everything in the ring. I want to show him that I am a better boxer than him. I used to fight without panicking, being relaxed, watching the opponent. My aim is to score the points, but if I see a knockout, I’ll finish the fight and will use my chance. I’m going to punish him and teach him boxing, because I fought him before, it was 3-round contest, and now it’s 8 rounds. He should just prepare, because I’m all prepared, I have confidence, I will do well, as it is the way I do. I must get that belt,’ Chinyemba said.
