With the official draw of the AIBA Youth Women’s and Men’s World Championships set to take place on 20 August and competition getting underway the following day, we take a look at some of the boxers going for glory on the men’s side of the event.

Attila Bernath (49 kg)
Hungary’s Attila Bernath was in sparkling form in Italy a few months ago as he won the EUBC European Youth championships after being in the second place in 2017. The talented boxer will be one of the favorites in Hungary with the crowd cheering for his home boxer.

Ivan Hope Price (52 kg)
Just like Hungary’s Attila Bernath, England’s Ivan Hope Price finally got the gold in the EUBC European Youth Championships in 2018, after his second place the previous year, and the British boxer will be looking for another prestigious gold in Budapest.

Abdumalik Khalokov (56 kg)
Uzbekistan’s strong team will include 2018 Asian Youth champion and 2017 Asian Youth silver medalist Abdumalik Khalokov. The boxer will be one to watch as he has shown to be very consistent in the last couple of years.

Atichai Phoemsap (60 kg)
The boxer from Thailand was selected as the best boxer of the 2018 Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships after his perfect competition getting him all the way to the top of the podium underlining his current form and his potential to top the podium in Budapest as well.

Otha Jones (64 kg)
USA’s Otha Jones was impressive in his continental Youth championships earlier this year as he came back home with the AMBC gold and will head to Hungary fully confident. He will be a key figure in what looks to be another strong USA Team pushing for medals in Budapest.

Ruslan Kolesnikov (81 kg)
Russian Ruslan Kolesnikov was both EUBC European Youth Champion in 2017 and 2018 and will continue his impressive trajectory hoping to secure gold in Hungary and hoping to push for a Tokyo 2020 place.
