The President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA), Dr Ching-Kuo Wu received on Saturday 06 July the Order of Merit from the Russian Government for his dedication to sport.

Present in Russia to attend the opening ceremony of the XXVII Summer Universiades in Kazan, Dr Wu was given this award by Mr Vitaly Leontiyevich Mutko, Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth policy of the Russian Federation, along with the presidents of the Badminton World Federation, the International Weightlifting Federation, the Judo World Federation and the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

The XXVII Summer Universiades have opened on Friday 05 July and will take place in the capital city of Tatarstan until 17 July.
