AIBA opens Registration for the AIBA Women’s Junior and Youth World Boxing Championships Taipei 2015

AIBA sent yesterday its invitation letter to National Member Federations for the AIBA Women’s Junior and Youth World Boxing Championships Taipei 2015 which will be held from May 14 – 24 in Taiwan, and signify the first major event of the year on the AIBA boxing calendar.
For the Junior competition, boxers between the ages of 15 to 16 will be eligible to compete (born between January 1, 1999 and December 31, 2000), and 13 weight categories will be in action: 44kg – 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg,70kg, 75kg, 80kg and 80+kg.
For the Youth competition, boxers between the ages of 17 to 18 will be eligible to compete (born between January 1, 1997 and December 31, 1998), and 10 weight categories will be in action: 45–48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57Kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 81+kg.
Previous editions of the Women’s Junior and Youth World Boxing Championships took place in Albena, Bulgaria (2013) and in Antalya, Turkey (2011). The Championships demonstrate AIBA’s determination to further develop women’s boxing globally with at least 300 boxers expected to take part in the 2015 edition.
The registration process will take place via the online registration system https://www.aiba-database.org/nf starting from Wednesday, March 4, 2015. The deadline for registration is Monday, March 30, 2015.
