Following WADA’s Executive Committee meeting held on 20 September 2018, AIBA is happy to announce that it is now fully compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code.

In a letter received by WADA, the decision was based on the recommendation provided by the Compliance Review Committee (CRC).  WADA’s Executive Committee has announced that: “the compliance procedure related to the awarding of the 2019 Men’s World Championships to Sochi is now concluded and no further action should be taken.”

AIBA is looking forward to welcoming the boxing family and fans from around the world to Sochi next year for the 2019 AIBA Men’s World Championships.

AIBA CEO, Tom Virgets said, “This is very good news for AIBA and for the sport of boxing. Our goal is always to do what is in the best interest of our sport and our athletes. We also look forward to continuing the work with our WADA colleagues in protecting clean sport.”
