AIBA has initiated the process of creating an Athletes’ Commission to represent the views and opinions of boxing athletes, and to ensure that athletes’ voices are heard within AIBA as per the amendment to the AIBA Statutes approved by the Congress in Moscow 2018.

In accordance with the AIBA Statutes Art. 34.1 (c), and AIBA Bylaws Art. 31.7, the Chair and Vice Chair of the AIBA Athletes’ Commission elected by the Commission will be members of AIBA Executive Committees with full voting rights.

Following “IOC Guidelines Related to the Creation of an IF Athletes’ Commission (Guidelines)”, AIBA reaffirms its commitments to ensure that boxing Athletes are represented at the highest decision-making level.

The AIBA Athletes’ Commission Election Procedure has published on the AIBA Website here. The Call For Nominations is until 5 June 2019. AIBA highly encourages the Member Federations and athletes to apply for the candidatures following the Election Procedure.
