2018 Youth Men’s & Women’s World Championships Qualification Guidelines unveiled

The AIBA EC Bureau has approved and unveiled the Qualification Guidelines for the upcoming 2018 Youth Men’s & Women’s World Championships that will take place between 22 and 31 of August. All boxers born between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2001 will be able to qualify to the World stage through the five different Continental Championships which are set to take place between April and May.
On the men’s side, a total number of 244 boxers will kick off the race to the Youth World title, including 233 coming from the qualification process (Africa – 38; America – 50; Asia – 65; Europe – 70; Oceania – 10), 6 quotas reserved for the Host Country and 5 Universality places.
A total of 174 Youth Women’s entries to World Championships will be available for all the boxers who have competed in their respective Continental Championships (Africa – 18; America – 32; Asia – 52; Europe – 52; Oceania – 10; Host Country – 5; Universality places – 5).
2018 is the year of the Youth Generation. With the Continental, World and Olympic titles at stake, 2018 will be the perfect time to identify the potential stars who will be shining at Tokyo 2020.
