IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships has just started with the first day of action in Budva Sports Centre. Among the 593 male and female participants, a total number of 11 IBA Junior World Champions from 2023 are ready to hopefully repeat their success at the Youth level.

Keyan Vagharshak from Armenia won his title in 48kg weight category, and a year later he is ready to challenge those rivals to reach the very top again. Not an easy task, as there are 24 participants in this category, and the first bout is scheduled against Moroccan Othman Chadghour.

Amantur Dzumaev from Kyrgyzstan claimed the gold medal in the 52kg category and switched has now to 54kg, while Russia’s Platon Kozlov was a Junior champion at 57kg and is now a competitor at 60kg. At 66kg, Armenia’s Argishti Hakobyan was crowned champion, who is now competing in 67kg.

Poland’s Fabian Pawel Urbanski is the reigning gold medallist at 70kg who can meet with another Junior champion, Armenian promising star Albert Harutyunyan, both now in the 75kg category.

In Youth women’s events, Snezhana Kuznetsova from Russia was a champion in 50kg and now is competing at 52kg.

Kazakhstan’s Junior champions Ayazhan Sydyk at 54kg and Tolganay Kassymkhan at 60kg are ready to continue in their respective categories. Ireland’s Siofra Lawless, 63kg Junior World champion, is a favorite for another title in Budva. Uzbekistan’s Sobirakhon Shakhobiddinova at 81+kg is the 11th Junior champion in action, aiming for new medal in Montenegro.

The competitions will finish with finals on 2-3 November.
