IBA covers accommodation costs for all boxers at Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva

September 12th, 2024 / IBA Youth World Boxing Championships

The International Boxing Association (IBA) offers unprecedented support to the participating teams of IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro, covering accommodation costs for all partaking boxers and for 3 coaches per National Federation. The event will take place from 22 October, through to 3 November 2024.

IBA’s gesture is aimed to support National Federations and to actively encourage those teams to send their strongest athletes to compete for those prestigious youth titles. Following the success of the previous editions of the Youth World Boxing Championships, the IBA is happy to support the efforts of those National Federations in developing boxing in the youth age category.

‘This is one more testimony to our commitment to delivering the best for our boxers,’ Chris Roberts OBE, IBA Secretary General and CEO, said. ‘We need to create the best possible conditions for our young athletes to raise these superstars along the pathway to eventual elite boxing. Youth age is a very important stage of each boxer’s career, with only one step away to elite boxing, and these titles earned at the Youth World Championships would be extremely encouraging to make this transition. We are looking forward to seeing our boxers in Budva to witness the victories of those with the technical and tactical ability.’

So far, over 360 boxers from 52 nations are registered to take part in the event. The registration will continue up to 15 September. We actively encourage all National Federations to take advantage of the financial contribution made by IBA to support and to cover accommodation costs.

National Federations can register their teams at IBA Database.
