July 18th, 2024 / IBA Champions Night

IBA Pro European Champion Artur Subkhankulov is to return to Ufa on 8 August to again headline IBA Champions’ Night in his home city, coming face-to-face with the undefeated Roland Galos to defend his title for the first time.

Subkhankulov defeated James Chereji from Romania at the last IBA Champions’ Night in Ufa in April and now looks to end the undefeated streak of the Hungarian Galos, who has six professional victories from six. In July, Subkhankulov forced a referee’s stoppage in the third round in Serpukhov against Tanzania’s Abeid Zugo.

There are two quarter-final matches for the 75kg IBA World title, both lasting eight rounds. 2021 world silver medallist Dzhambulat Bizhamov of Russia takes on undefeated teenage professional Juan Narvaez from Colombia, who has won by knockout in all eight of his bouts, still only 19 years old.

Kazakhstan’s Saparbay Aidarov faces Alokhon Abdullaev from Uzbekistan in the other part of the bracket at 75kg. Abdullaev defeated Mongolia’s Jargal Otgonjargal in the opening match of IBA Champions’ Night Tashkent three months ago. Aidarov remains undefeated professionally in his eight bouts.

Russian Vadim Musaev takes on Abulimiti Tuersunniyazi from China for the WBA Super Welterweight Asia title over 10 rounds. Musaev won the silver medal at the 2021 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships and remains undefeated professional after eight fights.

When home boy Danis Gabdrafikov was last fighting in Ufa in April, he defeated Uzbekistan’s Bobo-Usmon Baturov; and this time the undefeated Russian faces Misheelt Battumir from Mongolia over six rounds at the 67kg weight limit.

Azalia Amineva of Russia will feature in the only women’s match on the card, with the undefeated amateur facing the undefeated professional Rehema Abdallah of Tanzania in the 66kg weight category. India’s Akshay Chahal, an undefeated professional, also faces Russian 19-year-old Egor Kozorezov in a match at the 63.5kg weight.
