AIBA WOMEN’S WORLD BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS NINGBO CITY 2008
A total of 237 boxers from 42 countries will take part in the 5th AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships Ningbo 2008. All five continents are represented. Russia and Ukraine are the teams with the higher number of boxers (13) in the competition that will take place in the Chinese Ningbo City from November 22-29. Kazakhstan has the second largest squad with 12 athletes, then Turkey with 11, and Canada and DPR of Korea with 10 apiece. Within the 13 weight categories on stage, 54kg is the most crowded with 27 boxers, followed by the 54kg weight class with 26.
Age Category:
Athletes aged between 17 to 34 are eligible to compete. Age is determined using the year of birth of the boxer: (i.e.) boxers born between 1974 till 1991 are eligible to compete.
